China Centre For Resources Satellite Data and Application (hereinafter referred to as “CRESDA”) was founded in 1991. It is a scientific research institution led by the National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China and the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, and China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation is responsible for the administrative management.

As one of our country's three major satellite data centers, the Land Observation Satellite Data Center shoulders the important responsibility of building my country's land observation satellite data centralized processing, unified archiving, and unified distribution. The CRESDA has always adhered to the implementation of the national strategic deployment on the development of land observation satellites. Build a large-scale ground system facility for civilian remote sensing satellites, and be responsible for the operation and management of resource series, high score series, environmental disaster reduction, and space-based series of a total of 30 civilian satellite resources. It is engaged in scientific and technological research related to remote sensing data processing, and carries out application demonstration and distribution services of domestic and foreign land observation satellite data and products.

The CRESDA has carried out extensive application demonstrations in the fields of natural resources, ecological environment, water conservancy, emergency management, agriculture, forestry, urban and rural construction, statistics, and national defense. It has played an important role in the development of remote sensing data processing technology and industrial application practice, and has achieved fruitful scientific research and application results. It has successfully explored a new way of providing high-level Earth observation data products, information products and comprehensive application solution services for domestic and foreign military and civilian users.
